In the coming months, Hunger Action will be posting action items related to the 2009 Child Nutrition Reathorization. This legislation oversees Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) as well as federal child nutrition programs, such as the National School Lunch Program, the School Breakfast Program, the Child and Adult Care Food Program, and the Summer Food Service Program. This piece of legislation provides a great opportunity for expansion of and improvement to these programs.

In the next couple of months, Hunger Action will be launching new and enhanced web-based advocacy tools in addition to a monthly electronic newsletter. Check in from time to time so that you don't miss your opportunity to use these new tools including the ability to sign up for action alerts related to the Child Nutrition Reauthorization!

We encourage other organizations concerned with childhood wellness and nutrition issues to sign on as well.
